"Palmaria (A Parmæa en lengua ligur), es una isla italiana situada en el mar de Liguria, en la parte más occidental del golfo de La Spezia. Mide 1,6 km². Ubicada frente a la localidad de Portovenere, de la cual está separada por un estrecho brazo de mar llamado Le bocche, es la mayor de las islas de un archipiélago de tres que quedan al sur del continente en Portovenere. Su territorio forma parte del municipio de Portovenere. Patrimonio de la Humanidad de la Unesco En 1997, el archipiélago, junto con Portovenere y las Cinque Terre, fue designado por la Unesco como Patrimonio de la Humanidad. "Palmaria is an Italian island situated in the Ligurian Sea, at the westernmost end of the Gulf of La Spezia. Measuring 1.6 square kilometres (0.6 sq mi), it is the largest island of an archipelago of three closely spaced islands jutting out south from the mainland at Portovenere. The other islands, Tino, and the tiny Tinetto lie further south. In 1997, the archipelago, together with Portovenere and the Cinque Terre, was designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site."
